Wanted to update this really outdated web blog!  Good grief..there was so much dust on it I had to get out the vacuum.  Anyway…If anyone reads this…just let me know what you want us to put on the blog! 

Youth bible study is still going on with our faithful leaders Susan, and Kevin.  Youth Band is still coming on strong too!  Not much else is new.

Youth Retreat is coming up really soon.  I’m working on it as we speak.  If anyone has any ideas let me know what you would like to do!!  Otherwise I will just go ahead and schedule it.  We always have such a fun time!

It’s that time again, summer is over and school has begun.  We have a new schedule for the fall as well as new Bible studies.

New Schedule:  We will be meeting the 1st and 3rd Sundays of the month right after worship in the Teacher’s Lounge.

When:  Sunday, Sept. 7th we will begin our new studies.

What:  The Book of James & The Biblical History of Worship

We need someone to schedule an outing either for a hay ride or another run through the Corn Maze.  Let me know!!

Youth Worship Band!

Come one and all!  We are looking for you to join us.  All musicians, singers, prayers, helpers, songwriters, sound peoples we need your input. 

Band Practice begins:  Sunday, Sept. 7th right after Sunday services at the Holtzmann’s.  Bring your lunch!

We will meet the 1st and 3rd Sundays of the month.  We will be currently working on our Christmas Extravaganzza!

 What I especially love about this skit is that it shows the exact trouble people go through these days; especially teens. We use things like love, greed, alcohol, appearance, and suicide to fill up the emptiness we feel inside when really, Jesus is all we need to fill up that emptiness. Obviously, it’s harder for us to find Jesus than it was for the girl in the 5 minute skit, but that’s why we need to stay focused and not drift from him. Never think that Jesus can be replaced with anything else….because you’re not gonna find any other feeling, or any other love, any other satisfaction like Him. He’s the very one who created you; your likes, your dislikes, your strengths, your weaknesses, your personality. Who better you help you through your problems than the one who knows you better than you know yourself? Trust God…..Period!

After 2007, two scriptures are branded on my heart: Eph. 6:1 which tells children to obey their parents and you will live a long life and Jer. 29:11 which says that God has a plan for us; a plan to prosper and not harm us.

Now that I’ve actually got a hold of a relationship with God, being able to read my bible, pray, sit through sermons (no offense intended to Pastor Bob), being able to hear Him, I’ve also realized it’s a challenge to hold on to that faith. At my age and people older than me, it’s hard to keep a hunger like this. We overthink things too much. Sometimes it’s hard to have trust and faith in something we can’t see or touch. The Bible says we need to have the faith of a child. I look at my little brother and I think to myself, ‘wow…..look at how much faith he has. He doesn’t think about it, he doesn’t care who’s around and looking at him. He doesn’t care how the prayer goes or wonders if God will accept his prayer. He just knows.’ One time I was babysitting one of our Sunday school kids and her 3 little brothers, and they had lost a ball they were playing with. We’re looking all around the house for it and one of the brother gives up. “I don’t see it anywhere! We’ll never find it!” His sister replies by saying, “We’ll find it! Know why? ‘Cause we have Jesus and He’ll help us find it!” I was amazed at how mcuh faith she had in God to solve a situation such as finding a ball (which they eventually found, by the way). I wish I could have the faith of a child, believing anything and everything. I’ve learned to stop being in control of things; to stop trying to control the situation and just leave it up to God. “It’s Your will, Your will be done”: that is having the faith of a child.

For 2008, I plan to grow stronger and closer to God. My whole life is in His hands and all I’m going to do, is live it the way I know how until God tells me otherwise. His will be done.

what else? Well, there has been quite a few tragedies lately. I do not want to name them all, but we should be aware that they are out there.

Um…we should pray for the  Lorusso family And continue praying  for the Harms family as well.

I can’t go on though, I just don’t know what to say.
